The Minneapolis Youth Coordinating Board wants to hear from you. Our Youth and Family Safety Perceptions Study asks people who live, work, study, provide services, or regularly spend time in Minneapolis how safe young people and families feel in neighborhoods, on transit, in parks and youth spaces, and in everyday life.

What the survey is for

How safe people feel depends on many conditions at once, including exposure to crime, neighborhood safety, trust in institutions, transportation and transit safety, access to youth spaces, trusted adults, social connection, public conflict, youth voice, and family stability. The study measures these conditions from 2023 through 2026 so the YCB can direct youth-centered responses where they are needed most. Responses feed anonymous neighborhood summaries and a dashboard that guide policy briefings and coordinated action.
