The Minneapolis Youth Congress is welcoming applications for its 2026-27 cohort. Members work alongside city leaders on youth safety, wellbeing, and opportunity, developing policy recommendations that reach the City Council. No prior experience is required, and a stipend is provided. Applications close in September.

The Safety Perceptions Survey is collecting responses from young people across Minneapolis. It is anonymous, takes a few minutes, and asks where and when youth feel safe. Results will inform the coordinated safety plan this fall — take it, and share it with the young people in your life.

Summer placements are underway as young people begin paid work experiences with employers and community partners coordinated through the Youth Coordinating Board network. Placements pair skill-building with mentorship, and partner sites span nonprofits, city departments, and local businesses.
