Join the Minneapolis Youth Congress

Applications are open for the 2026-27 Minneapolis Youth Congress cohort. Students in grades 8 through 12 who are within the Minneapolis Public Schools district or are Minneapolis residents can apply.

Members represent their peers, work with elected officials, build leadership skills, and help shape decisions affecting young people across Minneapolis. Members receive a weekly stipend.

Commitments

  • Meet every Thursday except the first Thursday of the month.
  • Meet at the Downtown Central Library from 5 to 7 p.m.
  • Be within the Minneapolis Public Schools district or be a Minneapolis resident.
  • Be in grades 8 through 12.

Member benefits
